When John and Kirsten were thinking about how they were going to tie the knot, the big white wedding was not on their list. They wanted something different and relaxing. They also happen to be avid hikers, which is how they found Shelter Cove; located in Humboldt County's famous Lost Coast. Hiking the Lost Coast is on a lot of people's bucket list and these two did it days before saying 'I do'. Kirsten was born in Germany and grew up in Southern California, giving her a unique look on the world and the ability to be fluent in both languages. She found her perfect match in John; both treasuring the quiet moments and simple things in life. Kirsten even made John's vest for their wedding, and they both made their rings; gold used from heirloom pieces from both sides of the family, melting them together physically as well as symbolically.
The group consisted of just eight people. Close family to spend this time together, and enjoy coffee and cake at their wedding site on Shelter Cove's popular Wedding Point. We then took the newlyweds out to the beach where they had portraits taken, and got to soak up some sun. Overall these two were a joy to spend time with and we were honored that they chose us to protect and preserve their wedding memories.
Congratulations John and Kirsten!
